While current aviation systems are effective in maintaining essential safety parameters, they do not yet replicate the advanced decision-making skills and contextual judgement of an experienced pilot.

To address this gap, Intractābilis has implemented an aviation safety framework that integrates large language models (LLMs) with the pilot decision support system. Our solution leverages real-time flight data, live weather updates, and comprehensive aircraft documentation through a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architecture. This enables it to deliver contextually relevant recommendations while preserving the pilot’s ultimate decision-making authority.

Quantum-optimised Airline Crew Planning

Airlines invest significant resources in optimising crew-related costs while ensuring compliance with a range of regulatory requirements. Given the inherent complexity of crew planning, the task is typically approached as a series of interrelated subproblems, each presenting unique challenges and opportunities for optimisation.

One key subproblem is Pairing Construction, whose objective is to select, from a given set of possible pairings with associated costs, a subset that covers all scheduled flight legs while minimising total operational costs. Intractābilis has implemented a NISQ-compatible quantum optimisation solution that incorporates specialised problem loaders, and the necessary reductions to integrate it seamlessly.
